DescriptionLocation. The Ka'awa Loa Plantation Guesthouse and Retreat is located on the Kona Coast on the Big Island in Captain Cook, Hawaii. The property is set at an elevation of 1,200 feet above the Kealakekua Bay. The Kona Historical Society museum and tours and the Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden are less than two miles away. Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park is less than four miles from the plantation.
Features. Nestled amid tropical surroundings on a five-acre estate in the Kona Coffee Belt, the plantation produces organic crops, including Kona coffee, bananas, mangos, papayas, coconuts, passion fruit, dragon fruit and white pineapple. The Ka'awa Loa Plantation Guesthouse features a 1,500 square-foot wrap-around lanai with a Hawaiian daybed and garden furniture, and a common sitting room with a fireplace. An outdoor spa tub, traditional Hawaiian cedar steam room and outdoor lava showers are available for guests' use. Complimentary breakfasts include fresh plantation fruits, homemade baked goods and Kona coffee.
