Wardrobe - Remember: "Less is More" and unless your destination involves a lengthy cruise, few situations would dictate much more than the following suggestions.
- For the Woman: The staple of a knit skirt, matching knit cardigan or blazer, a pair of slacks and walking shorts along with 4-5 tops provides an endless variety of combinations. And accessorized with a bright scarf or a straw hat, a look can be quickly modified. Basic black and navy will never disappear as travel favorites. However, basic brown has now come into its own as a basic and can also be used as a starting point for building a travel wardrobe.
- For the Man: Two pair of slacks in tan, navy or gray will always pull double duty along with a traditional classic blazer. (Of course, the more casual men will always prefer jeans or docker-style pants.) Look for new options in fabrics such as microfiber and Tencel. A comfortable pair of walking shorts and 4-5 knit polo shirts (either short or long sleeved) can complete this basic plan. Don't forget that not only do knit polos pack exceedingly well, they provide a stylish "dressed down" look under a blazer.
- For Everyone: The classic, well-cut T-Shirt in a neutral color is great for layering if the climate dictates or just for wearing solo.
- Remember, this wardrobe has to be adjusted to suit your style, for very casual traveler (jeans & T-Shirt) to the business traveler.
- Good luck and have fun!
